Registration/Fundraising Info

Online Registration is Now Closed.

Thank you very much for your interest in participating in this year’s Third Annual Plate to Plate 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, August 30, 2009. Online registration is now closed, but you can still register onsite the day of the race for $45 ($35 for 12 and under). Tickets for the game that day are not available with onsite registration. However, each onsite registrant will receive a voucher to return to the ticket distribution area after 12:00pm at the post-race festival to see if there are any unclaimed tickets available for that day’s baseball game vs. the Colorado Rockies. For more information, please call 415-447-2316 or e-mail us at info@platetoplate.org.

For those who are already registered for the event, its still not too late to fundraise! You are helping just by running or walking. But please consider reaching out to friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to enlist their support for this important cause. You may donate to an individual participant or to the event in general. Or, you can use the envelope that was mailed to you along with your bib number to bring checks (payable to Project Open Hand) to Plate to Plate on August 30. THANK YOU!

Pledge to Make a Difference

Project Open Hand is one of the Bay Area’s best-known, most respected and beloved charities. For more than 24 years we’ve provided food, nourishment and emotional support to people facing life-threatening illnesses. In 1985, our founder, Ruth Brinker, a retired meal service manager, began preparing meals for seven people living with AIDS. The first grass roots response to the nutritional needs of people with AIDS in the nation, Project Open Hand today serves men, women and children with any acute, critical illness – HIV/AIDS, cancer, heart disease and many others, as well as a separate program for seniors ensuring companionship and nutrition for our community’s elderly.

We rely on literally hundreds of volunteers, and on support from tens of thousands of people like you who believe in our mission to provide meals with love. Because of the Giants and our other corporate partners who have underwritten this event, every dollar pledged through Plate to Plate will go directly to Project Open Hand’s meal, grocery and nutrition counseling programs in San Francisco and Alameda counties.

You are helping just by registering, running or walking. But please consider reaching out to friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to enlist their support for this important cause. Fundraising through Plate to Plate is easy, makes a real difference and also earns you credit toward unique incentive awards donated by our sponsors.
